For a large part of his career to date, Brean had an active interest in marketing, product design, and opportunities in digital. After gaining experience in online marketing through events and hospitality, Brean saw greater opportunities in the igaming world. For 10 years Brean built up an affiliate network of sites that were focused on a variety of igaming products. 

In early 2018, Brean pivoted to igaming compliance when an opportunity came up at Rightlander. The compliance monitoring businesses presented the ideal challenge for which he could use all his previous experience to help the business grow. Brean is mainly focused on regulatory relations at Rightlander, working with partners to understand the challenges of an ever-changing regulatory landscape and the effects it can have on the igaming industry. His work also involves researching the size of unlicensed operator activity, sometimes referred to as black markets.
